Refurbishment
Staithe End, Mudeford
We recently completed an extensive renovation project on a large, historic property in Mudeford. This sizeable home needed a complete refurbishment, as the interior layout had undergone significant alterations from its original floor plan. Our team removed and rebuilt staircases and several interior walls, carefully redesigning the space to restore its former character.
We also took on the challenge of replacing the statement curved sunroom roof, which required skilled craftsmanship. Our carpenters handmade and fitted a new curved roof, staying true to the home’s architectural integrity. The garage next to the property was torn down and rebuilt as a stylish Airbnb. Overcoming the unique challenges of this project, such as the curved roof design and the transformation of the garage, demonstrated the expertise and dedication of our team.
In the main house, we removed all the old lath and plaster, treated the timber for worm, rot, and dampness, and re-cleared the cavities for improved insulation. We also rebuilt the rear conservatory and replaced all the rear windows with like-for-like sash windows, using sustainable materials to ensure the renovation was both high-quality and environmentally friendly. One standout feature was the restoration of the beautiful stained-glass windows at the front of the house. To enhance soundproofing and insulation, we fitted clear glass on the interior side, ensuring the house is comfortable and energy efficient.
Every detail was completed to the highest standard, with care and attention paid to preserving the history and elegance of this remarkable home. Our unwavering commitment to quality was evident in every aspect of the project, instilling confidence in the successful outcome of the renovation. The client was very happy with the work carried out.
